Joey - It's the increasingly permissive society we live in  That's why we've all now finished up with the clap :o La La La La  |

It's got to be La La La's. No problem with an including a few claps, but can you imagine the song if no one La La La'd? Now think of it if no one clapped. Got to be La La's (bloomin' 'ek, am I really typing this on a Sunday morning?) |

My word I'm getting old...I can remember KRO without any claps or la la las. Those 52,500 full houses in the late 60s when KRO was sang like an anthem from the Spion Kop still makes me all goose pimply. Anybody remember the 5th Round replay against Arsenal or the 6th round against Chelsea in '68? And then there was KRO sang beautifully again without claps or la la las at Villa Park for the semi final. |

I didn't realise you were that old lowdham :o I remember both Arsenal and Chelski.... And we played the boggies off the park in that semi final at vile too.... If it hadn't been for Jeff Astle at his peak that Cup would have been ours that year.... We would certainly have been more entertaining than Everton and the boggies that's for sure.... It is the only Cup Final in which I have ever fallen asleep  |

Lowds i have said it for a long time, I do not like the "fast forward" version that passes off as KRO these days. The last time i heard sang anywhere near as it should at St Andrews was against Blackburn when we lost either 1-4 or 0-4. when sang "properley it really does make the hair on the back of your next stand up..... |

I always thought the la la's made us sound like a bunch of hapless simpletons, so I'd much rather have the clap..... |

I agree Willie - and you also bring back the memories too.... I remember that Blackburn match and there was about 8,000 of us left in the Stadium at the end when one guy started to sing.... It was totally awesome to the point that when I got back home I was so inspired I started a Thread entitled: "And In The Distance A Voice Was Heard....!" or something like that.... Even though we were relegated on that day you just knew that in those 8,000 was the absolute core of what being a Bluenose is all about.... Those who continue to believe in the future and the hope of success whatever happens and whatever the circumstances.... It is that attitude and belief that won us the Carling Cup and it is that attitude and belief that will drag us out of this awful mess that we are in now **thumbup |

I'm only 52 although my age has caught up with me cricket-wise. This is my first season in retirement, apart from a couple of friendlies and a charity match. |

for me it has to be la la la,and sung slow and in a slightly lower register so that we can all reach the top note (i did notice in the radio commentary for the fc national game, that it was sung slowly once or twice, well done to them, hope it catches on) :kro: |

I'm still baffled about why people don't sing it properly, but sort of rush through it and then let it fizzle out. It sounds daft. If you are going to sing it, sing it loudly all the way through I say! ;) |

La's every time. Then a belting power ballad version in the style of Bryan Adams or Rod Stewart. |

I remember that all too well, such a sad day, but filled me with so much pride. I went with my dad as we had season tickets, I mustve been 15/16 he left in a huff after the whistle, i refused to go, and stayed there singing. Not sure why really, just felt right, he later apologised when I met him in the car, and he asked me to remember this after id supported them for as long as he had! I love our anthem though, "claps over la's" for me, probably my age! Itll never get the publicity of a YNWA of Liverpool, but every time I have heard it to its fullest volume, early Prem years, 2001 cup final, playoff final, CC final, it has been fantastic. Really does make your hairs stand up and a knot in the stomach. If I was given 3 wishes, the first on my list would be for the noise of Wembley to be in St.Andys every game. I bet we wouldnt lose again! :applause: |

Thank you for that midland red :) I have just searched my archive to see if I could find it too and although the Threads go back to 2005 it isn't included :( Both Mo & Willie are pretty good at locating "Lost Threads" and maybe they can look where we can't  |
